What currency do I send?
Should I send money in a foreign currency or Australian dollars?
Exchange rates can fluctuate and different providers may use different rates. By converting Australian dollars to the destination currency with NAB, you'll have more certainty about the rate and foreign currency amount you're transferring. When sending in Australian dollars, the conversion to the foreign currency will happen after you've made the transfer and will use rates of a different provider. These rates could be more or less favourable and may result in a different foreign currency amount being received than you intended. You should consider your options before making a transfer.
What if I’ve been asked to send Australian dollars?
International suppliers or overseas parent companies sometimes ask for payments to be sent in Australian dollars. We can work with you to get the transfer sent as fast and smoothly as possible. You can call us for a quote or to chat about the different options available.
