SYDNEY, 24 JULY 2003: The National Australia Bank's Wealth Management division, which includes MLC, today announced changes to its leadership team to deliver its long term business strategy. National Wealth Management Executive General Manager, Mr Peter Scott, said the changes would bring new skills to the business units and provide fresh opportunities for growth, while maintaining continuity of people and breadth of knowledge. "Following our integration with the National Group, we felt it was timely to review our business and look for opportunities to transfer some of our leaders' skills, as well as bring new ideas to each of the business areas. "The changes also recognise the depth of talent within Wealth Management and the Group, through the promotion of two experienced managers to the leadership team: Matt Lawler as CEO, Distribution and Geoff Wenborn as Chief Information Officer. "I believe our new leadership team places us in a strong position to achieve our business strategy of delivering integrated financial solutions, quality advice, and leveraging our capabilities into selected international markets," he said. The changes to the leadership team are effective from Monday, 28 July 2003: - Geoffrey Summerhayes, formerly CEO, Retail Investments, has been appointed Head of Corporate Development.
- Steve Tucker has moved from his former position leading the Distribution team, to CEO, Retail Investments.
- Matt Lawler has been promoted from his role as General Manager, Adviser Distribution, to CEO, Distribution. The new position promotes Mr Lawler to the Wealth Management Leadership Team.
- Geoff Wenborn, former Technology General Manager, has also been promoted to the Leadership Team as Chief Information Officer.
- Martin Crawford, is moving from leading the Corporate Solutions team to the National Australia Bank's Financial Services Australia division.
- Michelle Tredenick (former Head of Business Systems and Corporate Development), has been appointed CEO, Corporate Solutions and will also be responsible for the New Zealand operations.Following two and a half years leading Wealth Management Europe, Paul Rogan is returning from the United Kingdom to take up a new leadership team role responsible for all major enterprise programs and processes. Head of Strategy for National Financial Services Europe, Garry Mulcahy, will take up the position of CEO, Wealth Management Europe.
The remaining leadership team members' roles are unchanged.
