The National Australia Bank (NAB) today officially opened its new state of the art telephone contact centre in Rhodes NSW, creating over 300 new contact centre jobs in NSW.
The centre has capacity for 540 people, which it expects to fill in the next twelve months. The new centre replaces the previous 220-seat contact centre in Epping.
The centre provides telephone customer service support from 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday.
Hosting the opening, NAB CEO Australia, Ahmed Fahour, said “We recognise the contact centre plays a crucial role in customer service today. Customers expect to speak to a dedicated in-house team member and the telephone is increasingly customers’ channel of choice when contacting the National.
“We are committed to satisfying customers’ preferences for how they want to interact with us and the new contact centre is a symbol of our dedication to strengthen our service support in NSW.”
“The new centre is just one plank in our NSW growth strategy. Over the next 18 months we will be getting bigger in NSW, with a major reinvestment program that will see us opening new branches and upgrading existing sites.”
The Rhodes centre currently accommodates 245 employees, 200 having moved from the previous NAB call centre in Epping and 45 new positions having been recruited in the last month.
“Our investment in the Rhodes contact centre and the increase in customer service personnel reflect our commitment to grow our market share in NSW. It is also consistent with our strategy to attract and retain quality people who put customers first. We know our contact centres make excellent training grounds for many employees who progress to senior roles in the bank,” Mr Fahour said.
The contact centre incorporates the latest Integrated Voice Recognition and Automated Call Distributor technology which ensure efficient call-handling. Employee input was considered in the best-practice design features including an open plan that facilitates collaboration across teams and ergonomically-designed seating and workstations.
