About Us

Group Financial & Risk Management (FRM) is a key component of NAB's Corporate Centre.  FRM plays a major part in driving the group's strategy through:

  • Target and expectation setting
  • Financial and Risk Governance
  • Managing the Group's capital
  • Managing the Group's Balance Sheet
  • Managing Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments
  • Group-wide Regulatory Management

FRM is made up of diverse functions including Group Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, Economics, Legal, Group Strategic Investments and Internal Audit .

The majority of the FRM community operate out of Melbourne, however we have teams located in Europe, New Zealand and Asia.

Number of Graduates we will recruit in 2006

FRM are looking to recruit approximately 8 graduates to commence late 2006/early 2007 in the following functions:

  • Finance x 2
  • Treasury x 1
  • Audit x 3-4
  • Risk x 1-2

Who we look for

FRM are seeking graduates who are ambitious, enthusiastic and enjoy working in a fast paced dynamic environment.  In order to succeed it is vital that you are outcome focused and display an eagerness to learn.  Graduates should also have strong communications skills and relationship management, a high level of initiative, and a desire to continually improve and stream line the way we do things.

FRM typically recruit graduates who have completed studies in the following disciplines:

  • Commerce
  • Banking & Finance
  • Economics
  • Accounting
  • Business

Post-graduate studies will be highly regarded.

What you can expect

Graduates typically undertake junior analytical roles for a period of 12 to 18 months.  Graduates can also expect:

  • a comprehensive orientation & induction program
  • a designated 'buddy' to assist with the settling-in process
  • technical and operational coaching on the job, supported by your People Leader and team
  • Learning and Development program, which includes support towards attaining professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, Masters, etc.
  • opportunities to meet with senior FRM leadership team members at networking functions
  • involvement in the FRM graduate community

Where our graduate roles are located

Graduate roles will be located in Melbourne CBD.

What happens after our graduate program

In conjunction with their People Leader, graduates will develop an Individual Development Plan, which outlines their development goals, actions and the assistance they will require to fulfil their goals.  By working together with their People Leader, and utilising the support tools available to them, graduates will usually have the opportunity to progress their career within FRM, and the wider NAB group.
