NAB collects over $550,000 in Premier's Cyclone Larry Relief Appeal donations
National Australia Bank today announced that donations made to the Premier's Cyclone Larry Relief Appeal via the bank have topped $550,000.
NAB has previously announced it will match donations to the Premier's Appeal up to $250,000 plus contribute an additional $250,000 to help in the impacted areas.
NAB's total package of relief measures, including financial assistance for affected clients, is estimated to contribute over $1 million to those in need.
NAB's CEO Australia Ahmed Fahour said his visit to Innisfail and Cairns and his meeting with Peter Cosgrove last week opened his eyes in a more personal way to the importance of corporate and individual support.
"I am touched by both the extraordinary generosity of our clients and the inspiring efforts our employees are making as they rally to raise funds and provide essential services for Cyclone Larry victims," Mr Fahour said. "My thanks go to everyone who has contributed - and the contributions are ongoing."
Julian Pearce, Chairman of the NAB's Queensland Leadership Team said NAB employees are providing outstanding service under very difficult conditions.
"The Innisfail branch in Rankin Street suffered $500,000 worth of damage and is currently running on generator power only.
"Our staff are still urging customers affected by this disaster to contact the bank to discuss their circumstances as soon as possible for access to credit card, mortgage and personal or business loan relief and support.
"Customers can contact their banker, visit any of our branches or ring 1300 885 265 for assistance."
Donations to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal can be made at any NAB branch.
