Coles Group Limited and the National Australia Bank today announced a program to install NAB Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) into hundreds of Coles Group stores.
Coles Group Managing Director - Marketing, Coles Express and Liquor, Mick McMahon and NAB's Executive General Manager Strategy and Marketing Greg Sutherland said the introduction of 322 NAB ATMs into Coles Express and Kmart stores represented a further strengthening of the strategic relationship between the two companies. Coles and NAB are also joint owners of the successful FlyBuys program.
Mr Sutherland said the rollout would extend NAB's ATM network by nearly 25%, boosting ATM numbers to over 1630, with 40 per cent of the new machines to be located in suburbs were there is currently no NAB presence.
"What we both want is a simple and convenient proposition for customers and the ATM network supports this," Mr Sutherland said.
Mr McMahon said the new ATMs would mean greater convenience and ATM access for customers.
"We are in the business of offering our customers the greatest possible convenience when they shop and this program provides another important way in which we can do that," Mr McMahon said.
The first NAB machines will be installed in Coles Group stores in early 2007. Coles and NAB will also expand the ATM network in existing and future Coles Group stores.
Meanwhile, Mr McMahon and Mr Sutherland said improvements to the successful FlyBuys program - Australia's largest loyalty program - had been exceptionally well received by customers.
Improvements to the FlyBuys program introduced in October included slashing the number of points required to achieve a $20 reward from 10,000 to 2,500. FlyBuys members can also now redeem $50 rewards for 6,250 points and $100 rewards for 12,500 points.
"These changes were all about making FlyBuys more relevant for its six million members. As well as rewarding customers for shopping with us, the FlyBuys program gives us the ability to capture and leverage vital data so that we can continue to develop a unique proposition across our range of store formats," Mr McMahon said.
