National Australia Bank has announced a package of special relief measures for customers affected by recent severe flooding in Victoria's Gippsland region.
NAB Regional Executive for Retail Banking in Gippsland, Trevor Walder, said NAB wanted to be there to help its customers.
"Many of our agricultural and business bankers have already been in touch with their customers but we are conscious that some of our personal banking customers will also need assistance," he said.
"We want all of our customers to know that we will be there to help wherever possible and have developed a special package of relief measures to assist."
The package of relief measures NAB will consider for customers facing financial difficulty as a direct result of the floods includes:
-
Suspending home loan repayments
-
Waiving fees and costs for withdrawing term deposits early
-
Waiving homeloan and personal loan application fees
-
Providing existing customers with access to low 'honeymoon' home loan rates and waiving the application fee to change to another loan at expiry
-
Credit card and personal loan relief where appropriate
-
Support to restructure other existing bank facilities
"We would invite customers who have been impacted by the floods to contact us so we can discuss their circumstances and work out the best ways to help.
"Customers can either contact their banker direct or call us on 13 22 65."
