As part of an ongoing commitment to making a difference in Australian communities, NAB is proud to be a major sponsorship of National Volunteer Week (NVW), 12 - 18 May, for the second year running.
Volunteering Australia, the national peak body for volunteering, runs NVW to highlight the role of volunteers in their communities and to encourage people to say thank you to volunteers they know.
The theme for this year's NVW, "volunteers change our world", is a great reflection on the achievements of volunteers. Around Australia and, indeed the world, volunteers make a difference everyday. More than 700 million hours of voluntary work happens in Australia every year with much of that in areas of helping people at their times of need. Volunteers certainly make a huge difference to the quality of life to many people.
NAB volunteers take part in around 6000 volunteer days a year, working with more than 300 community groups as part of an employee program which has been in place since 2002.
