NAB wants to give all kinds of people in our community a real head start. That is why our range of microfinance products have been designed to meet the diverse financial needs of the communities we serve.
Microfinance refers to a range of financial services and products designed to assist people who are largely excluded from mainstream financial services. This typically involves:
- access to affordable, small and unsecured personal or business loans either on a no interest or low interest basis;
- products that provide a safe transition to mainstream financial services;
- building a customer's financial capability such as budgeting and savings skills, small business skills and a credit history; and
- insurance.
In April 2006, NAB announced a $30 million commitment over three years to provide small, safe and affordable loans to individuals and families who have the aspiration to get ahead but for one reason or another are financially marginalised. Read more

NAB Small Loans Pilot
NAB has launched a pilot with fringe credit provider, Mobile Finance Pty Ltd who will offer small personal loans of between $1,000 and $5,000 on a break even basis. Read more
