The entrepreneur is a curious mix of inspiration and perspiration.
‘We were young but we had good ideas and lots of enthusiasm,’ said one very successful entrepreneur, Bill Gates, recently.
The entrepreneur is a curious mix of inspiration and perspiration a human paradox who brings order to ambiguity, chaos and uncertainty. A thinker who is also a doer, after all, innovation cannot stop at a good idea or else that is all it will ever be. A good idea needs a fire under it to get it over the line and into the marketplace. Not tomorrow, not next week but today! This is what sets entrepreneurs apart from dreamers.
A good entrepreneur also needs the ability to recognise how different variables can combine to create one product or solution. Consider Gutenberg’s invention of the movable-type printing press that combined the techniques of the wine press and the seat, two previously unrelated tools.
But not every idea has to have such a far reaching effects. Whatever your idea is, are you ready for the challenges that lie ahead?
