Use free SMS Security – Even if your ID and password fall into the wrong hands, a fraudster will not be able to transfer any funds because they don’t have your mobile phone to receive the SMS code.

Never access NAB Internet Banking from an email. If you have, call 1300 651 656 immediately. |

|
Always type www.nab.com.au into your browser’s address bar when accessing the NAB website and Internet Banking. |

Don’t write your password down. |
|
|
Keep your computer’s security software including anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam and firewall products up to date. Learn more about security software |

Never leave your computer unattended while logged in to NAB Internet Banking. |
|
|
Keep your operating systems up to date by ensuring that automatic updates are switched on and are installed when they become available. |
|
Do not use obvious passwords such as your date of birth, name, telephone number or address. |
|
|
Pause and think when receiving an email or viewing a website that looks suspicious. If you are concerned don't proceed and ask for assistance on 1300 651 656. |

Do not install software or run programs of unknown origin. |
|
|
When logging in check that a secure connection is being used (an HTTPS:// SSL connection) and if in doubt check the security certificate. |
|
Do not disclose personal or financial information to little-known or suspect websites. |
|
|
Exercise good password management: Keep it a secret, change it regularly and consider Password Lock |
|
Where possible avoid using computers in public places, such as internet cafes, hotels and airport lounges. Consider locking your password. |

|
Make sure you are not observed when entering your Internet Banking password. |
|
|
|
|
Delete spam emails and do not open email attachments from strangers. Consider using a SPAM filter. |

|
Be sure to logout after Internet Banking and consider locking your password. |

Choose a reputable Internet Service Provider (ISP) to provide your internet access. |

Disable the option on your web browser to automatically remember user names and passwords. Check your browser help for instructions. |

Always use NAB Internet Banking in an environment you trust and consider using Password Lock. |

|
If you use a home wireless connection, take steps to ensure it is secured by enabling one of the available encryption methods. |
