What do I need to get started?

Using NAB Internet Banking is easy. In fact, you may already have everything you need to start your banking NOW !

1. You need to be a NAB customer, with at least one acceptable transaction account.

Acceptable transaction accounts include FlexiAccount, FlexiDirect, SmartDirect, SmartAccess, FlexiPlus Mortgage, Credit Card, Home Loan, Personal Loan, NAB Business Cheque Account, Business Management Account, etc.

2. You need a NAB Identification Number (NAB ID) as well as a NAB Telephone Banking Password or have registered for SMS Security.

If you have access to NAB Telephone Banking or have registered for SMS Security, you are ready to get started.

If you don't have a NAB Identification Number (NAB ID) and Telephone Banking Password, or are unsure if you do, you can apply for one.

For Personal Customers:
Call 1300 651 656 to register for SMS Security or request your Telephone Banking password.

For Business customers:
Contact your Banker or visit a NAB outlet. You will need to complete an application form and may need to provide suitable identification such as a driver's licence and Utility Bill. You will be given a NAB ID and Password for your business "on the spot".

Note: If you want to access the "Pay anyone" function of NAB Internet Banking, or if you want to attach various accounts in different names to your new NAB ID, then this can be arranged at the time you request your NAB ID.

3. Register for SMS security

SMS security is a free and easy service available to all NAB Internet Banking customers. It provides a convenient layer of security when making NAB Internet Banking payments and can also be used as the authorisation code to register for NAB Internet Banking.

4. You need to have the right equipment.

You need to have a suitable computer, operating system and software with access to the Internet.  View the Internet Banking technical requirements.

5. Start your Banking

If you're ready to go, register for Internet Banking now.
