NAB announces senior appointments to Wholesale Banking

4 April 2011

National Australia Bank (NAB) has today announced the appointment of Drew Bradford as Executive General Manager, Trading, Financial Institution Sales and Research.

Drew has almost 25 years of corporate banking experience, both domestic and international, since starting his career with Bankers Trust Australia (BT). Drew joins NAB from Deutsche Bank where he held a number of senior positions in Japan and the UK across institutional sales, product sales and trading areas, most recently as Global Head of Listed Derivatives in London. Drew joined Deutsche following the bank’s acquisition of BT in 1998.

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Drew into this role,” said Rick Sawers, Group Executive, Wholesale Banking, NAB.

“Drew will be a real asset to both Wholesale Banking and NAB. His extensive global markets experience and strong leadership skills will ensure Wholesale Banking continues to provide customers with innovative financial solutions”.

Drew’s appointment follows a reorganisation of Global Markets into three key businesses. These businesses include: Capital Markets led by Steve Lambert as Executive General Manager; Global Markets, Corporate Business and Sales, led by Executive General Manager, Mark Adams and Global Markets, Trading, Financial Institution Sales and Research which will be led by Drew Bradford.

Commenting on the changes, Mr Sawers said: “I’m also pleased to be able to promote both Mark Adams and Steve Lambert into these positions, which I believe is real testimony to our ability to develop talent within NAB.

“These changes facilitate broader alliances across all seven of the Wholesale Banking front line businesses, which include Financial Institutions Group, Global Specialised Finance, Asset Servicing and Wholesale Treasury and with the other NAB businesses as we strive to deliver greater experiences and satisfaction for our customers.”

Separately in Global Specialised Finance, Dave Roberts was recently appointed as the Head of Infrastructure and Natural Resources Advisory (INRA). Dave will be responsible for running the division’s newly established project advisory business and joins NAB from Macquarie Group where he was a Divisional Director in the Infrastructure Group.

“The recent appointments highlight our commitment to Wholesale Banking and also our ability to attract exceptional talent,” Mr Sawers said.

Drew Bradford will commence his role in July and Dave Roberts on May 16.
