NAB refreshes app for iPad 2, as mobile banking becomes its fastest growing channel

National Australia Bank is refreshing its mobile banking app, ahead of the iPad 2 launching in Australia tomorrow.

The NAB app, which first launched in May 2010, offers NAB Internet Banking, a store and ATM locator, as well as calculators for foreign currencies and loan/savings scenarios.

The upgraded version, available in the Apple App Store in coming weeks, will offer an improved location search, which deciphers misspellings to make it easier to find NAB ATMs and stores.

NAB has seen 250 per cent growth in mobile banking over the past 12 months, with millions of log-ins to NAB Internet Banking done via mobile devices every month - now reaching 12.5 per cent of NAB's total internet banking traffic.

Chris Smith, General Manager of Digital, Direct Banking at NAB says more customers are enjoying the benefits of mobile banking, thanks to the popularity and useability of smartphones and tablets.

"NAB is working to give our customers more choice of how they bank and make it easier for them to manage their money.

"As smartphones and tablets become increasingly popular, thousands of customers are downloading our apps every month and are enjoying the 24/7 convenience of mobile banking and access to their money on-the-move," he said.

NAB's app is also available on Google Android devices and NAB Internet Banking is available through the internet browser on all web-enabled mobile phones.

"NAB is investing to make mobile banking available on all of the most popular devices," said Chris.
