Secure

Enjoy peace of mind knowing that with BPAY® you’re making your payment in a secure environment.

Convenient

Access BPAY® and pay your bills anytime, anywhere with your choice of online, mobile or phone banking.

How it works

BPAY® gives you total control of your payments. You can pay one-off bills such as your telephone, electricity and gas either online or over the phone. You can even schedule payments for a later date or make partial payments.

We allow all BPAY® billers to receive your BPAY® payments. BPAY® billers may set daily limits on the amount you can pay them using BPAY®.

We may apply daily limits of $2,500 to certain BPAY® billers if you’re not registered for SMS security.

Payments to NAB authorised BPAY® billers do not count towards daily limits on payments to an Australian bank account. You’ll be advised in NAB Internet Banking when a BPAY® payment is being made to a NAB authorised biller.

If you’re registered for SMS security, you may be sent a security code to your registered device to approve a BPAY® payment or add a BPAY® biller.

Step 1:

Locate the distinctive BPAY® logo on your bill to find the Biller Code and Reference number.

Step 2

Login to Internet Banking, Mobile Internet Banking or call 13 22 65.

Step 3

Select the BPAY® or bill payment option and follow the instructions.

How long do BPAY® payments take?

If you make a BPAY® payment before 6:00pm (Melbourne time) on a business day, we’ll send the details to the biller’s bank on the same day.  The biller is required (under BPAY® rules) to treat your payment as being received on that same day.

Payments made after 6:00pm on business days, or at any time on a weekend or public holiday will usually be treated as being received by the biller on the next business day. The time that it takes for the biller’s account to actually be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the biller’s bank.
