Get more out of your credit card
There’s more to a NAB credit card than just making purchases. They have a range of features that you may not be using. Here we’ll run through a few for you.
How to make the most of your interest free days
To maximise your interest-free days, you need to understand how it works. Your NAB credit card comes with an interest-free period of “up to 44 days” (most of our cards) or “up to 55 days” (NAB Low Rate Card only). These periods run from the start of your statement cycle to your statement’s due date. We go into it in a lot of detail over at how to avoid paying interest. Have a read.
Earn rewards points on purchases
NAB Rewards credit card
If you have a NAB Rewards credit card, you can earn points on your everyday purchases. You can redeem these points for travel, a range of merchandise, gift cards, banking rewards, charity giving or transfer your points to a selection of airline loyalty programs (applicable rewards terms and conditions apply to points earn and redemption).
Our other reward programs
With some of our other NAB credit cards you can earn points with other reward programs on your everyday purchases. These other reward programs include Velocity Frequent Flyer (Virgin), Qantas Frequent Flyer and flybuys. You can redeem these points for flights, accommodation, car hire, and a range of merchandise (applicable rewards terms and conditions apply to points earn and redemption).
Get assured with complimentary insurances
Available when you meet eligibility criteria on the following premium cards: NAB Rewards Platinum Card, NAB Premium Card, NAB Velocity Rewards Premium Card, NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card and NAB flybuys Rewards Card.1
If you spend $500 or more on your NAB premium card on prepaid transport, accommodation or/and land tour costs before you leave, you could be covered for travel cancellation, overseas medical expenses, lost luggage or travel documents.1,2
Some of our NAB premium credit cards come with a range of complementary insurances (again, when you meet eligibility criteria1).
Overseas Travel Insurance
Your basic travel insurance. This could cover you for travel cancellation, overseas medical expenses, lost luggage or travel documents when you meet the eligibility criteria and spend $500 or more (on your NAB premium card) before you travel on prepaid transport, accommodation or/and land tour costs.1,2
Transport Accident Insurance
Sometimes the worst happens. If you pay for your transport costs in full on your NAB premium card, you could have cover if you, your accompanying spouse or dependent children die or are seriously injured in an accident while travelling as a passenger.
Interstate Flight Inconvenience Insurance
If you pay for your return interstate airfares in full on your NAB premium card prior to departure, you could be covered if your luggage is lost or if you’re delayed. This also includes if you have to cancel or change an interstate flight due to serious illness, injury or death. You also may be covered for any rental vehicle insurance excess.
Domestic Hotel Burglary Insurance
Again locally. Pay for or secure 100% of your hotel accommodation costs on your NAB premium card and you could be reimbursed up to $2,500 for loss of, or damage to, personal items due to burglary of your hotel/motel during an Australian trip.
Purchase Protection Insurance
You could be covered if new items purchased with your NAB premium card are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged within 90 days of the date of purchase.
Extended Warranty Insurance
If you buy a new domestic appliance with your NAB premium card in Australia, you could receive an extension of its original Australian manufacturer's warranty for up to 12 months.
Price Protection Insurance
Shop with confidence. You could be reimbursed the difference between the price you paid for a new item on your NAB premium card (within Australia) and a lower printed advertised price for the same item.

Feel secure with extra features
Verified by Visa and MasterCard® SecureCode
You needn’t be nervous when shopping online. Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are an extra layer of security for online purchases. They provide an extra layer of validation to help protect against unauthorised transactions.
Look for your Online Shopping ID (OSID) on the back of your card. This does away with hard-to-remember PINs or passwords. If your card doesn’t have an OSID, you can provide your NAB ID (also on the back of your card) or other personal information.
