Career paths
Your career path
Whether you aspire to lead people, increase your expertise in a particular area or stay where you are, there is great potential to grow your career and pay.
People Framework
To make it easy for you to know where your career is going and where it could take you, our people framework is a single and consistent framework for performance, pay, career and development.
In the four-group people framework, you define your own pathway to success.
You may choose to move through the groups focusing on either people leadership or delivery/specialist roles, or continue to excel in your current role. It helps you identify opportunities in other parts of the organisation, so you could even find yourself in a job that you did not know existed.
Move vertically in our framework and the focus of a role changes from customer/specialist leadership to people leadership. Move from left to right and the accountabilities and complexities of roles increase. This sets up distinct career paths of people leadership and customer / specialist leadership.
Performance
Your performance will be assessed and determined by several factors and you'll get a chance to discuss these with your people leader during your first month. It's important you know just how well you're performing, how you can improve and what skills you need to build for the future.
For that reason, you'll work with your people leader to develop a performance Scorecard and an Individual Development Plan (IDP). The IDP details the activities required for you to develop and succeed in your current role and to grow professionally. That way you'll always be able to map out, track and adjust your personal development needs.
At NAB you choose the role that suits you and set your own destiny.
Training & Orientation
To ensure you're ready to make the most of your role at NAB, there are a number of training courses you will be required to complete in your first 12 weeks, via The Academy. These can include Compliance training, Role-based training and Orientation.
