We're addressing employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians by:
- Providing tailored traineeships and other purpose-built employment opportunities
- Providing appropriate support and mentoring for Indigenous employees
- Supporting scholarship programs for Indigenous students
- Supporting programs that build literacy and numeracy with Indigenous school students
- Supporting the above through management resources and funding
- Our Indigenous School Based Training (SBT) Program
Nathan - Business Development Manager Protection, MLC Sales
Nathan Ahboo has a knack of making hard work sound easy. Thirteen years of perseverance at NAB paid off recently when the young Torres Strait Islander was appointed Business Development Manager Protection with bank's wealth management area, MLC.
Nathan commenced his career with NAB when he was offered a position in the bank's Trainee Banker Program and gaining experience in Lending Services, Business Banking and Personal Banking.
Since graduating from the trainee program, Nathan has worked in consumer lending and most recently as a Senior Manager Financial Planning with NAB Private Wealth.
He also completed a Bachelor of Business in Banking and Finance and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning through NAB's Study Assistance Program.
"Completing my studies while working was hard, but well worth the reward. The NAB Cadetship program is a great opportunity to commence your career in banking whilst you are studying and I encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are undertaking an undergraduate degree at university, particularly those studying a Business or Finance related degree to apply for a cadetship with NAB".
"Being in a large organisation like NAB, there are plenty of opportunities to develop your career".
