Group Business Services (GBS) is an integral part of how we operate and how we evolve. A single centre of operational excellence, GBS combines the core operations and service functions. It consists of eight business units, responsible for technology systems and infrastructure, operations processing and servicing activities, managing the retail and commercial property network, strategic sourcing, and providing key HR services.

"Being responsible for operational analysis means I enjoy a very varied role, with plenty of input. Our greater team has five portfolios, each with internal and external reporting requirements and I provide varying levels of support.
"In my role I need to be flexible and able to work under pressure; everything else can be learnt and at NAB there's a distinct focus on personal and career development. So far I've been supported to complete a Master of Commercial Law at Deakin and several courses at The Academy, including presentation skills and communicating with influence. To succeed here you need to be a good communicator, with well-developed interpersonal skills. However, it's just as important that you're open to new things and up for a challenge, because there will be plenty of those.
"I joined NAB because of its diversity in roles, long term career prospects and ultimately reputation. Right now I'm looking to develop further in my current role, but anything is possible. There are opportunities in P&C, Finance, and Risk and my interest is to one day work within nabAsia in either Singapore or Hong Kong."
