Why NAB?
I wanted to explore my passion for financial planning. This was possible with NAB. The team was really welcoming, even though I didn’t have a finance background. I guess they saw my love of people and advising skills – and that I backed myself in terms of delivering to clients

Support
Starting as a NAB Financial Planner has opened a whole new career path for me. Making the shift from Marketing could be daunting for some. But with NAB that wasn't the case. I got the support, development and opportunity to switch to a career and area I was passionate about.

NAB gave me the foundation to be successful. I feel like every effort I put in comes back tenfold in terms of helping my clients with their financial goals. And of course I enjoy the financial rewards of working smarter. NAB set me on that path.

Culture
We're all like-minded: we enjoy what we do and we're driven by client focus. Each fortnight we meet to share ideas, successes and winning techniques as a team.

Our motto is: Do well – stay happy. And that extends well beyond an individual doing well and staying happy in their role. If someone has challenges ahead, we all work together to help them through. We even pass leads between the team if someone's client book isn’t overly active. Flexibility is something we all value.

Why NAB?
My previous employer offered no career path. There was no pressure or indication that my State or Practice Managers would move any time soon. So I began to look outside. NAB was the clear front runner in terms of career path and development.

Support
As a new starter, you're fully supported to learn the ropes. You’re definitely not thrown in the deep end. You're pretty much skilled and drilled to succeed in your role.

You don't have to push for training and development or meetings with senior managers. These are set up and matched to your learning as you progress through your first six months and beyond.

In a snapshot, you're supported and training is provided at the right time along your career path. So you're free to focus on sales and being productive in your new role.

Culture
The team is friendly and supportive, and all members are highly driven. We've got good momentum, we're all achieving great things in a positive environment and we get every opportunity to reach our potential while working with what we love: Financial Planning and money!

Why NAB?
As my role and responsibilities in my previous business increased, I found myself at a turning point: continue to grow with the business or follow the passion I'd always had for financial planning, the stock market and investment. I went with my passion, and here I am at NAB.

Support
The biggest benefit for Financial Planners joining NAB is that our program is structured. It offers genuine hands-on training and it isn’t ad hoc like at other organisations.

Having been in this role for a while, I know NAB has tested different training and development approaches. Having achieved best practice, this is what Financial Planners now enjoy.

Another bonus for new starters is that they usually join as a whole team at the same time. So you get a shared experience plus the chance to learn from each other.

Culture
If you love team sports, you'll love the sense of teamwork in Financial Planning. You’ll see a real synergy between camaraderie, learning and mutual support. This lets us achieve as individuals, be successful as a team and deliver valuable advice to clients.

There's a strong sense of morale but you also need to be self reliant. People who are results focused will definitely enjoy NAB Financial Planning.
