Why should I register for job alerts?
Registering for job alerts ensures that you can maintain complete control over the job search process by receiving regular emails regarding jobs that match what you are looking for. This means that we're looking for your ideal job, even when you're doing other things!
How will you communicate with me?
We will regularly communicate with you via email. If you have registered with a Hotmail or Yahoo account, please remember to check your 'Junk' folders for confirmation or invitation emails to ensure you do not miss out on important communication from us.
How do I update my personal profile or resume?
To update your personal profile or resume, please complete the following:
- LOGIN via the Applicant Log In
- Enter your existing user name and password
- Select the 'Update my Profile' button
- Select one of the available options and enter your new details
- Select 'Save' to save the information.
I submitted an application several weeks ago and have not heard anything since the initial email advising me that my application was being considered. How do I get an update??
We understand that it can be stressful waiting for news on a job application so you have the option to track the status of your application with at anytime by logging into the Existing Applicant Sign In on our careers homepage. Once you are logged in you can view the status of your application as well as review your personal profile details to ensure they are correct so we can contact you.
How do I obtain an entry - level role with NAB?
NAB has a number of entry level roles, which will provide you with plenty of challenges as well as a career path in the organisation. You can apply for a range of entry level roles from working in our branches as a teller to working in our call centre as a Customer Service Officer. These entry level roles are regularly advertised on our Careers Centre. You can also opt to register for job alerts. You can also opt to register for job alerts. We will notify you when these roles become available and you can then choose to submit an application.
I recently received job alert listing jobs that matched what I am looking for. What do I do next?
To apply online you should access the link in the email which will take you to a detailed description on the career website:
- Review the details of the job
- If you wish to apply for the job then select 'Apply Now'.
- Review the Employee Privacy Notification and click 'Accept' to indicate your acceptance.
- If you are an existing applicant you should enter your existing username and password. If not, you need to create a user name and password in order to proceed.
- Review your personal profile to ensure that all information remains correct. If not, you can attach your current resume in order to prepopulate your personal profile.
- New applicants should enter their email to create a username and password.
- Complete questions specific to each job.
What if I am not an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident?
You must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident to apply for permanent roles at the National which are based in Australia. Status will be verified as part of an overall probity check prior to appointment.
If I'm unsuccessful can I reapply?
All applications for roles with NAB are stored in our candidate database for review by our Recruitment team. Although you have been unsuccessful on this occasion we may continue to notify you regarding other opportunities in the coming months which we hope may be of interest to you. These potential opportunities will be identified based upon the information provided in your application.
To help us locate the best opportunities for you, we would appreciate you taking the time to periodically update your personal profile by logging in via the Existing Applicant sign-in link on the careers homepage.

Is there a different application process for graduates interested in working at the National?

Will I have the opportunity to move overseas?
Most of the National's staff are located in Australia. Although the National has significant operations overseas, the main responsibilities for most Australian candidates will be based in Australia although some interstate and overseas business travel may be required. Overseas moves are made on the basis of merit, skills and experience, past performance and business needs within a particular location.
I forgot my password. How do I get a new password?
- Proceed to the Careers Home page
- Select Applicant login
- Type your e-mail address and select the 'forgotten your password' link.
- Your preset secret question will be displayed. Type your answer.
- If your answer is correct the system will automatically generate a new password and send it via your e-mail.
- If your answer is incorrect you can select the 'contact us for support' link
