NAB 'Face in the Crowd' Competition

Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Information about prizes and how to enter forms part of these terms and conditions. By entering the competition, you accept these terms and conditions.
  2. The promoter is the National Australia Bank Limited (ABN 12 004 044 937) Level 34, 500 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 ("NAB").
  3. Entry is open to all residents of Australia who attend one of the football matches set out in Clause 6 other than Directors, management, employees and their immediate families of NAB ("Promoter"), Beinteractive Pty Ltd, and their associated agencies and companies ("Eligible Entrant").
  4. The competition commences on 7 February 2009 at 18.39 (Melbourne time) and concludes on 14 March  2009 at 23:59 (Melbourne time) ("Competition Period").
  5. To enter, during the Competition Period, follow the MC’s instructions at ¼ time to stand up for your chance to be randomly and instantly chosen as a winner.  Once the spectators are standing, the cameraman will randomly point the camera at a spectator and display them on the big screens situated in the stadium.  Once the spectator is chosen as the Prize Winner, a representative of the Promoter will find the Prize Winner and take their name, address, email, mobile, account details. 
  6. There are three prizes to be won during the competition period.  The cameraman will choose one spectator from the crowd from each of the following matches:

  7. Each Prize Winner will automatically and instantly win $1,000.  The Prize Winner will then be asked by a representative of the Promoter to make their way down to the ground for the chance to double their money.  In order for the spectator to double their money and win a total of $2000, they must kick a goal outside 50 metres.  
  8. The total maximum value for the Promotion at the date of publication of these Conditions of Entry is as follows:

  9. Winners will be notified at the game and in writing and by email.  Details of the Prize Winners from matches 1 – 8 will be published in the Public Notices section of the Australian newspaper on Friday 27th February 2009. Details of the Prize Winner from match 9 will be published in the Public Notices section of the Australian newspaper on Friday 20th March 2009.
  10. Subject to these Conditions of Entry, if the Promoter is unable to provide any Prize Winner with the nominated Prize or any part of the Prize, for any reason, including the fact that any Prize Winner has not accepted their Prize within sufficient time to enable them to receive the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to supply an alternative Prize of similar monetary value. Subject to state legislation.
  11. If the winner is not present and able to kick a NAB supergoal five minutes prior to half-time, a back-up winner will be randomly selected from the crowd. This will re-selection will count as the unclaimed prize draw in accordance with Clause 5.
  12. If for some reason the $1,000 cannot be claimed by ½ time, the Prize Winner will forfeit the prize and the Prize will be given to the back up winner.  The back up winner will then be given the opportunity to double their money in accordance with Clause 7.
  13. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any entrant’s or Prize Winner’s participation in the Promotion or the receipt or use of any part of a Prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  14. The prize cannot be transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash until after the winner has notified NAB of their existing Account details.  If for any reason the winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by NAB then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize. If the prize is unavailable, for any reason NAB reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value.
  15. To the fullest extent permissible at law each Prize Winner releases the Promoter from any claim, loss, damage, expense (including, without limitation any claim for legal expenses), cost and charge sustained and/or in any way incurred by them in connection with a Prize and/or their participation in the Promotion.
  16. The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize.  It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
  17. The promoter’s decision is final and the promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.

  19. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.
  20. The Promoter cannot provide advice on specific tax issues. The Promoter recommends that independent tax advice and legal advice on any tax implications arising from winning a Prize should be sought. In the event that any Prize is subject to tax, the Promoter will not be liable for any additional tax payable by a Prize Winner.
  21. By accepting a Prize, a Prize Winner agrees to participate in any publicity arrangements made by or on behalf of the Promoter in relation to this Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to publicise the Prize Winner’s name, suburb, date of win and photograph through newsletters, print media, electronic media, broadcasts or any other means of publicity.
  22. The personal information you provide will be used by the Promoter, and may be disclosed to its agents, to conduct the competition.
