National Australia Bank and STA Travel today announced the launch of an Australian first – ‘National Tertiary Student Package ISIC FlexiCard’.
The National Tertiary Student Package, which offers tertiary students a low-cost bank account with no monthly service fee or minimum balance requirement, now features an all-in-one debit card and International Student Identity Card (ISIC).
Key features of National Tertiary Student Package ISIC FlexiCard
- a worldwide photographic student ID card (ISIC);
- access to low-cost banking;
- ISIC free of charge (normally $18);
- Australian discounts at over 200 providers including STA Travel, Hungry Jacks, Telstra, train travel, movie tickets and many more; and
- international discounts at over 33,000 global providers ranging from flights, public transport, museums, cinemas and nightclubs; and 24 Hour Multi-lingual Help Line.
General Manager Deposits and Retail Transactions at the National, Ms Lisa Gray, said the initiative was a first for the National and had been designed as a free enhancement for the National’s existing student package.
"Students are often cash poor, this product offers them a range of discounts and benefits with the added convenience of a student ID and access to their bank accounts. It’s an innovative idea that adds real value for students," said Ms Gray.
"National Tertiary Student Package customers can now receive the benefits of a 3-in-1 card – with a bank account, an internationally recognised form of student identity, and discount card all in one," she said.
National Marketing Manager at STA Travel, Jane Ballantyne said; "It’s great to be partnering with the National on this initiative. They are a leading financial institution with a strong university presence. The National has enabled us to enhance the ISIC, creating a more functional card for students".
Students who open a National Tertiary Students Package FlexiAccount will receive the ISIC free of charge, saving $18.
