NAB provides assistance to businesses impacted by equine flu - 7 September 2007

Friday, 7 September 2007

National Australia Bank (NAB) today announced a package of relief measures for customers affected by the recent outbreak of equine flu.

NAB Executive General Manager Business and Private Banking, Mr George Frazis, said NAB was providing relief to support customers during unforeseen and difficult circumstances.

β€œThe equine flu has affected not just thoroughbred breeders but also small to medium sized businesses that support the racing industry such as caterers, feed suppliers and retailers,” he said.

"At NAB we back our customers and have developed a special package of relief measures to assist customers directly affected by the equine flu outbreak.”

The package of relief measures NAB will consider for customers facing financial difficulty as a direct result of the equine flu consists of:

  • Suspending home loan repayments
  • Waiving fees and costs for withdrawing term deposits early
  • Waiving home loan and personal loan application fees
  • Providing existing customers with access to low 'honeymoon' home loan rates and waiving the application fee to change to another loan at expiry
  • Credit card and personal loan relief where appropriate
  • Support to restructure other existing bank facilities

"Customers who have been impacted by equine flu should contact NAB so we can discuss their circumstances and work out the best ways to help,” said Mr Frazis.
