Why do I receive a security alert when accessing NAB Internet Banking?
NAB Internet Banking uses digital certificates issued by VeriSign to ensure your connection with the National is protected.
From January 2003, VeriSign discontinued support for digital certificates installed in earlier versions of Internet Explorer® 5.0 (IE 5.00.2614) and below or Netscape Communicator® 4.6 and below.
NAB Internet Banking customers using these browsers will be affected from May 30, 2003 when our security certificate is updated. You will encounter a security alert message whenever you attempt to enter a secure session. You will have the option to continue and if you choose to do so, your session will still be encrypted.
To avoid the security alert in the future, we recommend that you upgrade your browser to a supported version. Please find instructions below:
Microsoft® browsers
Download the latest version of Internet Explorer®.
Netscape® browsers
Download the latest version of Netscape®.
Further information about digital certificates can be found at the VeriSign Australia, digital certificate tutorial page.
Please note: Depending on the speed of your connection, Internet Explorer® and Netscape® may take up to a few hours to download. Internet Explorer® 6 Service Pack 1 requires the Windows® 98 operating system or above.
