Duty of confidentiality

Under general law, NAB is obliged to keep information about you confidential, except in certain situations, such as where disclosure is required by law (e.g. disclosure to the Australian Taxation Office); or disclosure is made with your consent (express or implied); or there is a duty to the public to disclose; or our interest requires disclosure.

Your personal information

The privacy of your personal information has always been important to us at NAB. We are committed to respecting your right to privacy and protecting your personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) including the National Privacy Principles; and any relevant Health Privacy Principles under state legislation, such as the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic)or the privacy provisions contained in Part 2 of the Health Records (Privacy and Access) Act 1997 (ACT); and other applicable laws and codes affecting your personal information.  Our staff are trained to respect your privacy in accordance with our standards, policies and procedures.
