Libby has just qualified for the Melbourne 2007 World Championships in four individual events following the Telstra Australian Swimming Championships recently in Brisbane.

Her position as one of the world's best swimmers was confirmed at the world short course swimming championships in Shanghai in April 2006, where she won five gold and one silver medal.  Libby's medals included victories in the 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 4x200m freestyle and world record breaking 4x100m medley. She also won a silver in the 4x100m freestyle.

Just three weeks earlier at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, Libby won five gold and two silver medals.  Libby's medal haul included gold for the: 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 4x100m Freestyle, 4x200m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley. She also won silver for the 200m Freestyle and the 100m Butterfly.
At the 2005 FINA World Championships in Montreal, Libby again dominated in the pool, winning individual gold in the 50m Freestyle and Relay gold in the 4x100m Medley and 4x100m Freestyle Relays.

2005 also saw Libby's stunning success with two World Records in two consecutive nights at the Telstra Australian Short Course Championships in Melbourne.  Libby won a gold medal by setting a new 100m World Record of 51.91 - a record which she went on to break the following night in 51.70.

At the 2005 Telstra FINA World Cup (SC), she also won the gold medal with a World Record in the 200m Freestyle.

At the 2004 Australian Olympic Swimming Selection Trials, Libby blitzed the field with a World Record in the 100m Freestyle, set the second fastest Australian time ever in the 100m Butterfly and broke the Australian Record in the 50m Freestyle to qualify for her first Olympic Games. At the Athens Olympics, Libby won a gold medal and World Record in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay.

In 2005, Libby was crowned the Australian Swimming Discovery of the Year and the Australian Short Course Swimmer of the Year.
