Curried crocodile, kangaroo lasagne, and emu risotto are all on the menu thanks to a bush foods enthusiast Suzanne Grech and a program that supports the participation of Indigenous people in enterprises.

The Indigenous Entrepreneur Program has been developed by NAB and Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) to provide not-for-profit loan capital, business mentoring and business training to eligible indigenous entrepreneurs.

As the program’s first participant, Suzanne developed a sound business plan with support from IBA and secured a NAB Microenterprise Loan to buy the commercial kitchen equipment she needed to get Purple Goanna Catering off the ground.

Glen Brennan, Community Finance and Development Manager at NAB said "through NAB’s Microenterprise Loans, we’re giving entrepreneurs an opportunity to get into business.

"As a Koori-owned, Koori-run business, Purple Goanna demonstrates how NAB is providing practical help that creates jobs and promotes opportunities that lead to financial independence," he added.
