National Australia Bank announced today a number of measures to assist customers who are adversely affected by the extensive flood damage occurring in the northwest and northern tablelands of New South Wales. Mr Mike Carroll, the National's General Manager, Agribusiness, and Mr Wayne Rees, General Manager, Business Financial Services, NSW & ACT, outlined the measures that would be available to customers. "We appreciate how devastating it is to have a crop days away from harvest and either wiped out or the grain downgraded. When the impact of the heavy rains has been assessed, farming customers are encouraged to contact our Agribusiness Managers to discuss having their loan repayments deferred or loans restructured," said Mr Carroll. "Customers who are adversely affected by these disasters and have loans for business purposes can also apply to have their loan repayments deferred or their facilities restructured," said Mr Rees. "Customers can also apply to have home loan repayments deferred under hardship provisions as per the Uniform Consumer Credit Code. We will give sympathetic consideration to these requests. "We are encouraging any customer who has been adversely affected by these disasters to discuss their circumstances with the National's staff. Our staff will be keen to assist wherever possible to ensure customers get their businesses and personal financial affairs back on track as soon as possible," Mr Rees added.
