Dr Thomas Jobling, who is the head of the Gynaecological Oncology Unit at the Monash Medical Centre, said: "I am delighted that Dr McNeilage has decided to accept the position with the Foundation. Her research background is first class and we look forward to her contribution to our research program." The main areas of research to be undertaken by Dr McNeilage will involve the development of new tests for the detection of ovarian cancer and a better understanding of the biology of ovarian cancer. Mr Mike Pratt, the National's Chief Executive Officer, Australian Financial Services, congratulated Dr McNeilage on her appointment. "Dr McNeilage has an impressive research background. I'm sure she will prove a great asset for the Foundation. "The National is delighted to fund this appointment and support its future fundraising activities," Mr Pratt said.
