Melbourne appointment to National Australia Bank's Project & Structured Finance team - 23 February 2000

National Australia Bank's Project and Structured Finance Division has appointed Mr Peter Sonsie Divisional Director Project and Structured Finance. The position is located in the National's Melbourne office.

Mr Sonsie has 22 years experience in the banking industry with ANZ Banking Group, primarily with Project and Structured Finance. He has spent the past five years on power and infrastructure projects.

Mr Sonsie is well known to the National's Project and Structured Finance team as he worked on the multi-award winning Millmerran Power Station transaction. He also worked on the successful financing of the Melbourne CityLink and Loy Yang A projects.

Mr Alister McConnell, Head of Project and Structured Finance (Australia) said he believed Mr Sonsie's background and experience will be an important strategic addition to the bank.

"Peter's appointment will be a welcome addition to the team. His experience will help support the leading position that the National's Project and Structured Finance team holds in the Australian market," Mr McConnell said.

The National has developed a reputation for consistent leadership, arranging and participation in Project and Structured Finance in the Australasian region and was recently awarded, Project Finance House of the Year 1999, by INSTO magazine.
