National Increases Home Loan and Deposit Rates - 4 February 2000

The National Australia Bank will increase a range of home loan and deposit rates by up to 0.5%. The National variable rate home loan interest rate will increase by 0.5% to 7.30%. This reflects the rise in the official cash rate. The National Tailored Home Loan Package six month fixed rate will increase to 5.49% from 4.99%. The new one year fixed rate is 6.45%. Other fixed home loan rates are unchanged. Interest rates on a range of deposit accounts have been increased by up to 0.5%. The Blackboard (5 to less than 6 months) term deposit rate increases to 5.7%. The Trade Up Two Year rate increases to 6.6%. The increase in the official cash rate has also been reflected in business interest rates. The changes to interest rates are effective from Monday February 7.
