National Australia Bank's Project and Structured Finance Division has added a further capability to its activities with the appointment of Dr David Howell as Head of Project Finance. Mr Ian Mattiske, General Manager Global Project and Structure Finance, is enthusiastic about this appointment as it complements the National's pre-eminent position in the Project and Structured Finance market in the region. "Dr Howell's international experience will be invaluable to the increasingly global scope of National's Project and Structured finance activities," he said. The National has developed a reputation for consistent leadership, arranging and participation in project and structured finance and recent awards include Project Finance House of the Year 1999, awarded by INSTO magazine. Dr Howell is returning to Australia after five years in London and New York where he was involved in Project Finance Advisory and Private Equity with a boutique advisory house and was head of the investment banking group of NatWest in New York.
