Two National Australia Bank Agribusiness Analysts have been appointed to roles in Scotland with Clydesdale Bank, a member of the National Australia Bank Group, as part of an international transfer program. The successful candidates were: Ms Emma Jennings (26) from New South Wales and Mr Brad Ritchings (25) of Western Australia. Staff interest in the program was very strong and was reflected by the impressive calibre of candidates. Further opportunities are planned for those Agribusiness Analysts keen to gain international exposure in their career development with the National. Ms Emma Jennings, formerly an Agribusiness Analyst at Narrabri NSW, has accepted a position in Perth in central Scotland, and Mr Brad Ritchings, who was previously located at Bunbury in Western Australia with the National, has accepted a position in Ayr, south of Scotland. Mr Mike Carroll, Head of Agribusiness Australia at the National, explained: "To ensure the transfers were of benefit to the Group's Agribusiness teams in Scotland and their clients, we wanted people with strong analytical and communication skills and a strong understanding of agriculture. They also needed the confidence and capacity to cope with change. "Emma and Brad will spend two years working abroad, giving them international exposure to banking and agribusiness and providing them with appropriate experience to progress to more senior roles when they return," he added. Speaking from Scotland about the move, Brad said: "I'd been interested in working offshore with the bank for several years, but at my level I didn't think this was a feasible option. "The opening up of offshore employment opportunities really highlights the benefits of working for a multinational organisation. Probably the most unexpected benefit I have seen has been the growth in my work skills and abilities. I feel this has come about from the daily requirement to adapt quickly in order to successfully settle and fulfil the requirements of the new position. Everyday presents something new," he said. Mr Carroll said the National now hoped to build on the experiences of Brad and Emma's transfer by developing an exchange program for Agribusiness specialists working for other banks in the National Group in New Zealand, the United States, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
