Senior appointment for National's new eBusiness unit - 6 July 2000

National Australia Bank's new eBusiness company, O2-e has appointed David Rose as one of its Chief Operating Officers.

Mr Rose has been appointed Chief Operating Officer Business Acceleration. He will take up his new role in mid August.

Mr Rose, 38, is a partner in Price Waterhouse Coopers Management Consulting Division.

He is head of the firm's Asia Pacific Customer Relationship Management practice. This includes responsibility for eCRM initiatives.

Mr Rose is familiar with the National Australia Bank Group's operations in Australia and overseas. He has been the global account partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers responsible for managing relationships with the National.

Prior to his current Price Waterhouse Coopers role he worked with Coopers & Lybrand in the United Kingdom.

He also worked with the merchant bank, Kleinwort Benson in London.

In announcing the appointment, the Managing Director of O2-e, Glenn Barnes said Mr Rose would bring a wide range of important skills, competencies and experiences to the new company.

"David's experience in financial services, e-commerce and customer relationship management techniques means that he is well suited to the diverse portfolio of businesses O2-e plans to assemble and grow.

"He also has a broad knowledge of the National Australia Bank Group and our core strategies that will enable him to quickly identify opportunities for e-commerce and related businesses," Mr Barnes said.

O2-e has been established by the National Group to assemble, incubate and accelerate new economy capabilities and businesses.

The businesses and capabilities developed are expected to be high growth and deliver a significant proportion of the National's core earnings by 2005.

O2-e will develop businesses and capabilities in product innovation, infrastructure and back-office applications. It will also be active in an area the National calls "info-tailing". This is defined as the process of linking customers with value adding information, as well as products and services suppliers.
