Assistance for National customers affected by bushfires - 27 December 2001

The National has urged customers who may be financially impacted by the recent fires in NSW and the ACT to contact their banker as soon as possible.

Mr Ray Knight, Head of Personal Financial Services, Rural Australia, at the National, urged customers who are facing financial difficulties to contact their banker.

"Customers should discuss their circumstances with their banker, who will help put an appropriate relief plan in place as soon as possible," said Ray.

"We have a range of relief options for customers affected by the fires, which include deferring repayments, re-structuring loans, providing additional loan funds, or credit card relief where appropriate."

"Affected customers can also call the National on 13 22 65 for assistance and advice," he added.

Apart from the National's Engadine and Huskisson branches, which are closed due to their proximity to the bushfires, all other branches across our network are available to assist customers.
