NSW Bushfire Disaster Relief Fund - 8 January 2002

The National's branch network is available to accept donations to the New South Wales Bushfire Disaster Relief Fund.

General Manager of Personal Financial Services at the National, Mr Ken Hodgson, encouraged customers and members of the public to utilise the National branch network to support those who had lost their homes.

"Funds deposited into the NSW Bushfire Disaster Relief Fund will be used to provide assistance to those affected by the bushfires," said Mr Hodgson.

Cheques may be sent directly to the NSW Disaster Welfare Centre, Kamballa, 1 Fleet Street, North Parramatta, NSW, 2151.

Mr Hodgson also urged affected customers to discuss their circumstances with their banker, who will help put an appropriate relief plan in place as soon as possible.

"As indicated by the National yesterday, we have a range of relief options for customers affected by the fires, which include deferring repayments, re-structuring loans, providing additional loan funds, or credit card relief where appropriate."

Affected customers can also call the National on 13 22 65 for assistance and advice.
