National branches in the west of Sydney will hand out over 150 gifts to three local charities, to help bring festive cheer to a wide range of children in the area. The National's Area Manager for Sydney West, Mr Cameron Morgan, said that staff from branches located in Sydney's west wanted to support the local community, and in particular charities that don't always attract a lot of attention. "Our vision was to provide joy for a wide range of children in our local area. Initially we were aiming to collect enough gifts to assist one charity. However, the response from our staff was overwhelming and we are now supporting three local charities. "In the morning, we are hosting a Christmas party for over 80 children at the Kurrambee School at Werrington. At this school for children with disabilities, Santa will be arriving on a motor bike to present gifts and the school will celebrate with morning tea. "In the afternoon, National staff will provide gifts for children at the Blacktown Police Community Youth Centre. This centre provides a safe and inspiring place for adolescents aged between 12 and 16. "We've collected so many gifts from our staff that we'll also be able to support the Penrith Women's Refuge by providing gifts for distribution by the Centre Director. "From our original idea to support one charity, the enthusiasm of local staff in National branches from Silverwater to Katoomba has enabled us to provide gifts and bring happiness to over 150 children," added Cameron.
