The National opens new Watergardens Branch - 17 April 2002

Today the National held an official opening of its new branch in the Taylors Lakes area of Melbourne.

Watergardens is a full service branch within the Watergardens Shopping Centre that offers extended hours of service.

"Taylors Lakes and the surrounding western suburbs are considered growth areas and through micro-market analysis, the opportunity was identified that representation was needed," said Peter Flavel, General Manager, Personal Financial Services, Financial Services Australia.

"Full teller service is available from Monday to Friday, with extended hours of operation until 5.00 pm on Fridays and 24 hour access to an ATM facility.

"The Watergardens branch is also open on weekends between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm where customers can organise home loan, personal loan or credit cards. Increasing numbers of people experience difficulty in finding time during the working week to enquire about our products and services and review the information without time constraints.

"By opening on the weekend we are providing greater service for new and existing customers," said Mr Flavel.

The Watergardens branch was in an unique position when opened its doors on Wednesday 27 February this year as it started out with a zero customer base and the challenge of having to acquire new customers, which it has been successful

Since then, Watergardens has assisted to build and grow the local community with a number of home loans and term deposits.

"We believe this new branch at Watergardens is a great opportunity for the National to provide superior financial solutions tailored and packages to meet our customers' needs," added Mr Flavel.
