In an industry first, National Gold Rewards Program members can now use their rewards points to grow their wealth. Members of the National Gold Credit Card loyalty program can redeem rewards points for credit to their cash account with Your Prosperity's Portfolio Service or Super Trust. Your Prosperity Limited is a member of the National Group of companies. "This is a great way for members to use rewards to help grow their wealth. No loyalty program in Australia has ever provided that degree of flexibility", Mr George Beatty, General Manager, Cards Australia, National Australia Bank, said. 35,000 National Gold Rewards points can be redeemed for $250 credit to a cash account with Your Prosperity's Portfolio Service or Super Trust. Members joining and investing with Your Prosperity's Portfolio Service or Super Trust will earn 2,000 National Gold Rewards bonus points. Your Prosperity's Portfolio Service gives access to over 270 wholesale managed funds. Your Prosperity's Super Trust gives access to over 120 wholesale managed funds, and lets you manage your super online. "The wealth creation option is a great example of the National leveraging its group strengths to create innovative, tailored products for our customers", Mr Beatty said. The option is one of a range of recent changes to the National Gold Rewards loyalty program designed to provide customers with greater choice, flexibility and control. The new generation loyalty program also allows members to claim rewards on flights anytime, with any airline, and get their rewards faster. "In the past, it's often been difficult to use frequent flyer rewards points for flights when and where you want them. "Now our members can use National Gold Rewards Points to fly anytime, with any airline", Mr George Beatty, General Manager, Cards Australia, National Australia Bank, said. Through an agreement with Australia's leading travel agency, Harvey World Travel, National Gold Rewards Program members can redeem rewards points for a complete travel package, including flights, accommodation and car hire. "Gone are the days of being frustrated because there are no frequent flyer seats on the flight you want. With the new generation National Gold Rewards Program, if there are seats available on any of over 80 of the world's leading airlines, they're yours. "And National Gold Rewards members will have access to all the competitive pricing and special offers available through Harvey World Travel", Mr Beatty said. Other changes to the National Gold Rewards Program announced recently include: - Top Up - if you don't have enough points to claim a wealth creation or travel reward, you can make up the difference with cash, or credit
- New Reward Providers - such as FOXTEL cable and satellite subscriptions, and Budget Car & Truck Rentals
To accommodate the enhancements the program will charge a $33 annual membership fee, or members can redeem 4,500 National Gold Rewards points. The conversion rate for Qantas Frequent Flyer Points will be increased from one for one to 1.5 National Gold Rewards Points for one Qantas Frequent Flyer point. The National has also invested significantly in its Call Centre operations and on-line processing so that redeeming National Gold Rewards is easier and faster. Mr Beatty said the changes were driven by extensive research conducted by the National into consumer needs, and independent research by groups such as frequentflyers.com.au which indicated areas of consumer dissatisfaction with existing frequent flyer programs. "The new generation National Gold Rewards Program provides our members with the choice, flexibility and control they are looking for. "And it comes with all the benefits of the National Gold Card, including the very competitive interest rate of 15. 5%p.a - up to 2% below some other competing loyalty cards", Mr Beatty said. National Gold Card holders not wishing to join the rewards program will retain all other benefits associated with the National Gold Card. The National has begun an extensive direct mail and advertising campaign to promote the new generation National Gold Rewards Program.
