Today the National officially opened a new Financial Services Centre for the Toowoomba community. The National's General Manager, Personal Financial Services, Mr Peter Flavel, said this was the first in what will be 15 new Centres around Australia. "The National is committing $6.5 million to build Financial Services Centres around Australia. In total, $1.3 million is being invested in the Toowoomba region, to build a number of premises including the Toowoomba Financial Services Centre, and a new Agribusiness Credit Centre," said Mr Flavel. "The Toowoomba Financial Services Centre houses 21 local staff, including 12 new roles. "The Centre improves service to customers in the local area by providing a headquarters for the Toowoomba region as well as being a 'one-stop shop' for personal financial services needs. Other benefits include: - Providing home loan customers in the Toowoomba region with their own personal banker. A personal banker takes the time to understand each customers' personal goals and provides tailored financial solutions;
- Ensuring branches provide excellent service for the day-to-day needs of customers, and
- Providing experienced bankers in key locations to service customers where there is demand.
"The National's Business Banking and Agribusiness operations are also located near the Toowoomba Financial Services Centre, to enable customers with diverse needs to take advantage of the services that are offered," added Mr Flavel. Head Of Personal Financial Services Rural Queensland, Ms Sharyn Gordon, said that in the short time the Toowoomba Financial Services Centre had been open, it had already made a big impact. "The Centre enables local customers to draw on the wide range of experience and services the National has to offer, including wealth management, insurance and risk products, together with more traditional banking products such as home and personal loans," said Ms Gordon.
