Calling all volunteer groups - There are only two weeks left to nominate for your share in $375,000
The National Australia Bank is calling on volunteer groups around Australia to nominate for their CommunityLink Volunteer Awards and go into the running for their share in $375,000 in prize money.
"We want local CFA groups, SES groups, community radio stations, sports groups, disability groups and volunteer organisations of all shapes and sizes to nominate for these awards. This is a great opportunity for community groups to be recognised for their work and receive a monetary reward, which in some cases could allow groups to continue with their good work and even expand what they do," said Andrew Gaze, basketball great and one of the National's Community Ambassadors.
Entries are being sought from not-for-profit community and volunteer groups undertaking activities in any of the following categories:
- Art and Culture
- Community Services
- Emergency and Safety
- Environment, Conservation and Heritage
- Health, Sport and Recreation
It only takes a few minutes to fill out the nomination form," said National Community Ambassador and Olympic legend Raelene Boyle. "If you know a volunteer group in your community or have benefited from the work of a volunteer organisation yourself, please encourage them to nominate. This is too good an opportunity to miss."
Each category will have a state winner (plus one from the ACT and NT combined), receiving $7500 in recognition of their organisations outstanding work in the community. A further 60 nominees Australia-wide will receive $1000 Highly Commended awards.
