The National Australia Bank's new banking centre in Port Lincoln was officially opened today by Mark Cant, Chief Executive of the Eyre Regional Development Board. The centre will bring a new concept in banking to Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula and represents a significant commitment to the region. 15 banking professionals will be stationed at the centre. Known as a Financial Services Centre, National customers will now have a one-stop shop to meet their financial needs. Joining Mr Cant in opening the Centre was Richard Hockney, General Manager of Business Financial Services for the National in South Australia and the Northern territory. "Port Lincoln is one of 16 such centres we are establishing in regional and rural Australia" Mr Hockney said. "By walking in the door customers will have all they need under one roof – from personal to business banking, from wealth management to our agribusiness arm." "We expect to see the centre becoming a financial hub for the Eyre Peninsula where decisions affecting our customers are made here at the local level." "The National has been serving customers here on the Eyre Peninsula since early last century and has great confidence in Port Lincoln as a major business, agriculture and tourism centre for the region." Note: The official opening of the National's Port Lincoln Integrated Financial Services Centre, 13 Liverpool Street, Port Lincoln at 5.00pm, 1 May 2003
