National Supports Quambatook Rural Transaction Centre

National Australia Bank today announced its participation in its first Rural Transaction Centre at Quambatook in north western Victorian, as the community's selected financial services provider.

National's Regional Manager for Victoria North West, Mr Joe Siragusa, said the National was delighted to partner with the Rural Transaction Centre initiative in Quambatook in addition to its continued commitment to provide banking and financial services to the local community.

"We are pleased to expand our involvement in servicing the needs of rural Australians by participating in Rural Transactions Centres, such as the one at Quambatook, and to be providing the premises for the centre," he said.

"The National hopes that the Quambatook joint venture will become a hub for community activity.

"The National would like to thank the Federal Government for working with us to ensure the local community receives the services that it requires," he said.

The Centre will offer customers access to the National's comprehensive range of banking services from everyday transaction banking to small business services and will operate weekly on Wednesday, from 1 – 4 pm.

The Centre will also be equipped to provide customers with information on National products and services, and to arrange for customers to meet a National banker to discuss more complex financial needs.

The Quambatook Centre will be supported by the National's branch at Swan Hill.

The National has a strong network of more than 1000 outlets and financial service centres, including approximately 800 branches.  More than half of these branches are in rural and regional Australia.  National personal customers are also able to transact at more than 3000 Australia Post outlets across Australia, in addition to the network of ATMs, eftpos devices, telephone and Internet banking.
