New business & private banking initiative & advertising campaign - On the spot decisions for business loans - 16 February 2005

A new advertising campaign that demonstrates how the National is making major advances in serving its business customers launches this Sunday.

The upcoming "On The Spot" advertising campaign, which incorporates Business and Private Banking's Rules-Based Lending initiative, is a significant step forward in helping customers by providing them with quicker response times to their requests for loans.  “In many instances, this will be ‘on the spot’," says George Frazis, Executive General Manager of Business Banking at NAB Australia.

"It is another example of how we are responding to the needs of business customers," says Mr Frazis.  "This initiative further demonstrates to our customers and to the market that the National is here to help businesses and their owners and managers achieve their goals and be successful. 

"We realise that time is money for business customers, who are often time poor.  ‘On the Spot Decisions for Business Loans’ will enable bankers to provide an in-principle approval at first conversation, for business lending that meets certain criteria," he added.  Most customers simply need to provide details of recent financial statements for 12 months. 

"This helps business owners and managers get on with running their business, by providing them with a decision on the spot.  It is another exciting step forward in the way we do business with our Customers."

It will be advertised via television and print and run for five weeks and calls on customers to contact the National to receive "On the Spot Decisions for Business Lending", up to $750,000 where residential security can be provided. 

The National as a whole also commenced an extensive brand advertising campaign utilising both television and print this week.

Mr Frazis noted that with this customer promise comes increased expectation and responsibility across the entire Business and Private Banking network to deliver.  "We are confident that we will all step up and meet the expectation created.  All of us commit to providing on the spot decisions to our business clients, demonstrating to the market that once again, we are the market leader and one of the leaders in business banking."
