Customise your own security
With NAB Connect you can confidently manage your business banking online by customising your own security.
Our valuable security features help protect your business finances against potential risks, both internally and externally. These features include:
- Protected access
- Access and viewing rights
- Daily payment limits
- Dual payment authorisation
- Digital signing for high-value payments
- Value range authorities
- Encryption
- User activity reports
Protected access
Access to NAB Connect is via:
- A unique 10-digit user identification number; and
- A one-time password generated by a PIN-protected security token.
To protect your account information, each user will be automatically logged out of NAB Connect after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Access and viewing rights
NAB Connect enables you to customise:
- Viewing rights for each of your linked business accounts to help ensure only authorised people see sensitive financial information; and
- Access rights for each service. For example, you can limit access to confidential payroll information
Together, these control features can help you to effectively manage third party (e.g. accountant) access on NAB Connect.
Daily payment limits
NAB Connect provides you with complete flexibility to establish payment limits that suit your business and risk profile. You get to set the limit on the overall value of daily payments you can submit. You also have the option of setting daily limits for each payment type (e.g. BPAY). Payments that exceed your limit will require an additional approval process.
You have the flexibility to change your set limit(s) at any time to meet your changing business requirements.
Dual payment authorisation
NAB Connect offers a 'Segregation of Duties' capability for payments. This means that an Authorising User cannot authorise a payment that they themselves have created.
This capability provides you with an added layer of security and peace of mind knowing that your exposure to fraud is significantly reduced. The one-time password generated by an Authorising User's security token also provides a secure and effective means of authorising payments.
Digital signing for high-value payments
Authorising Users will need to digitally sign for payments that exceed the transaction signing threshold of $500,000. To do this, an Authorising User will be prompted to enter information about the payment into their token. The token will then generate a unique transaction signature which will be entered into NAB Connect to authorise the payment.
Value range authorities
You have the ability to nominate how many Authorising Users are needed to authorise payments within a specified value range.
Encryption
NAB Connect uses 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology and a firewall mechanism to help prevent unauthorised users from being able to read or access your accounts.
User Activity Reports
NAB holds user activity reports (available for up to 3 months) that provide details on:
- Access, including the date and time each user logged-in; and
- Transaction details, including who created, authorised and edited each payment.
You can request a copy of these reports at anytime from our NAB Connect Client Centre.
