The following information is provided as a guide to assist you in protecting the information on your computer. It is not an exhaustive list and is intended for information purposes only.
- Authorise your payments using SMS security. Call 1300 651 656 to register your mobile phone number. Find out more
- Keep your password secret. Never disclose it to anyone or record it anywhere. Find out more
- Ensure that you are not observed or heard entering your Internet Banking Password (eg. screen reader software voices data entry and screen text to assist visually impaired users).
- Ensure your browser connects using 128-bit SSL encryption and check that the secure session has been authenticated with a valid security certificate. Find out more
- Never leave your computer unattended while logged in to NAB Internet Banking.
- Change your password regularly. We recommend you change your password every 30 days.
- Always logout from NAB Internet Banking immediately you have finished your banking.
- Ensure you use a reputable Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Install anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall software on your personal or home computer, particularly when they are linked via broadband connections or cable modems. Find out more
- Delete junk or chain emails. Do not open email attachments from strangers.
- Disable or switch off the option on browsers for storing or retaining user names and passwords. Check your browser help for instructions.
- Do not disclose personal or financial information to little-known or suspect websites.
- Do not use a computer or a device which cannot be trusted.
- Only use public or Internet Cafe computers to access Internet Banking or perform financial transactions when they are trusted.
- Lock your password prior to logging out from NAB Internet Banking.
