NAB Internet Banking Enhancements - February 09

On Saturday 28 February 2009, we have introduced some changes in NAB Internet Banking to improve online security and make your banking experience even easier.

Extended Validation Certificates - NEW

Customers using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox 3 will see their address bar turn green when using NAB Internet Banking. This is a clear visual display that the site you are using is a genuine NAB site and protected with encryption. To see the green bar in action or for further information, please visit nab.com.au/evcerts.

SMS Security - 'Pay anyone' improvements

SMS Security registered customers will experience improvements when making 'Pay anyone' funds transfers in NAB Internet Banking. Once a funds transfer has been authorised using SMS Security, further payments to the same payee will only require NAB Internet Banking password authorisation. Further information is available in NAB Internet Banking help or FAQ's

Hints and Tips - NEW

We have introduced a Hints and Tips section to assist our customers to use some of the many features of NAB Internet Banking. You will notice the Hints and Tips box at the bottom of the left hand navigation menu.

International funds transfers - minor changes

NAB Internet Banking will now use your residential address rather than your mailing address to populate applicant information when completing a.'New international fund transfer'. As many mailing addresses contain a P.O. Box (which is prohibited under certain legislation) using your residential address ensures affected customers can perform International Funds transfers.

The beneficiary and beneficiary bank fields have also changed. We have introduced text boxes to allow greater flexibility when completing details.

Note: Beneficiary name remains restricted to 35 characters. If the beneficiary name exceeds 35 characters, customers can continue entering details into the address field.

NAB Internet Banking Enhancements - August 08

Over the weekend, a number of enhancements were made to NAB Internet Banking to improve our customer's online banking experience.

NAB Internet Banking registration using SMS Security

Registering for SMS Security provides an additional layer of security when making payments and updates via NAB Internet Banking, it also makes registering for NAB Internet Banking even easier.

If you have registered for SMS Security at a branch or over the phone, you will now receive an SMS Security code when registering for NAB Internet Banking for the first time. You will no longer be required to enter your NAB Telephone Banking password to register for NAB Internet Banking.

SMS Security - are your payment details correct?

We have enhanced the safeguards currently offered by SMS Security to further protect against payment errors and fraud.

The SMS Security authorisation message sent to your mobile phone will now display the details of the payment at the beginning of the message followed by the SMS Security authorisation code. It is important to read and confirm the payment details before entering your SMS Security authorisation code.

Moving the SMS Security authorisation code to the last part of the message ensures that your payment details are validated prior to authorising payment in NAB Internet Banking.

More account information is now available

You will now see links to additional product information relating to your account in the 'account details' screen in NAB Internet Banking.

These links provide useful hints & tips and additional product information for your account. These links include information such as 'Tips on travelling with your NAB Credit Card', 'Terms & Conditions' and other information relevant to the account you are looking at.

NAB Internet Banking Term Deposit Application

Investing online is even easier using the improved NAB Internet Banking Term Deposit application. We have simplified this form to make it easier to use & faster to process.

International Transfers

We have made some changes to the International Transfer feature in NAB Internet Banking in response to suggestions from our customers. We have improved usability and will now provide indicative rates at the time of application.

SMS Security authorisation limit

SMS Security now has an additional feature to make transferring small amounts of money easier.

The SMS Security authorisation limit allows small funds transfers to non-linked accounts without requiring an SMS code.

You can quickly and simply "Switch off" or "Switch on" the SMS Security authorisation code. Switch the authorisation code off should you wish to authorise all your transfers with an SMS code regardless of the amount. Or, switch it back on to authorise small funds transfers to non-linked accounts without needing an SMS code. Select "Security" from the "my settings" main menu within your NAB Internet Banking session.

The SMS Security authorisation limit will only apply to customers who are SMS Security registered.

Please refer to What is SMS Security? for further details regarding the SMS Security authorisation limit or alternatively use the NAB Internet Banking help.
