Life may be full of surprises but they’re not always pleasant. If your circumstances change unexpectedly, it pays to have NAB Credit Card Cover to help protect your ability to meet your credit card repayments. NAB Credit Card Cover is issued by MLC, a multi-award winning provider of personal insurance.

Benefits

The policy provides the following benefits:

If you suffer a defined critical illness*:

payment of the outstanding balance on your NAB Credit Card Account (as at the date of your diagnosis or, for surgical conditions, the date of the surgery) up to a maximum of $50,000.

If you became disabled*:

  • a monthly benefit of 15% of the outstanding balance on your NAB Credit Card Account (as at the date of your disablement) which will be paid until the first of these events to occur:
    • you are no longer disabled; or
    • 18 monthly benefits are paid; or
    • $50,000 has been paid for the disability benefit; or
    • your death.

If you become involuntarily unemployed*:

  • a monthly benefit of 15% of the outstanding balance on your NAB Credit Card Account (as at the date you become unemployed) which will be paid until the first of these events to occur:
    • you are no longer involuntarily unemployed; or
    • an amount equal to the outstanding balance as at the date you become unemployed has been paid; or
    • $50,000 has been paid for the involuntarily unemployment benefit.

If you die*:

payment of the outstanding balance on your NAB Credit Card Account (as at date of your death) up to a maximum of $50,000.

* These benefits are subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions (including the definitions of “critical illness”, “disablement” and “involuntary unemployment”) set out in the NAB Credit Card Cover Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Policy Document.  Before you apply for NAB Credit Card Cover, read the NAB Credit Card Cover PDS (PDF - 370kb) carefully, and note the benefits the policy contains and the limitations on those benefits.

Low cost protection

NAB Credit Card Cover costs 79 cents for each $100 (or part thereof) of the outstanding balance on your NAB Credit Card Account (subject to a maximum balance of $50,000) for each statement period.

Plus, your first month’s premium will be waived!

Who can apply?

To be eligible for NAB Credit Card Cover you must:

  • Have a NAB Credit Card Account with you as the primary cardholder;
  • Be an Australian resident; and
  • Be aged between 18 and 64 years (cover automatically ceases at age 65).
