NAB Concession Card Account
Everyday banking for concession card holders, with no monthly account fees.
Open a NAB Concession Card Account:
- over the phone – call us on 13 13 12 from 7am-9pm Mon-Fri, or 8am-9pm on weekends (AEST/AEDT)
- in any NAB branch.
However you open your account you'll need to bring your concession card into a branch.
Overview
If you hold a current eligible concession card, this account is designed especially for you. You get:
- no monthly account fees, and no minimum opening balance
- no transaction fees
- a Flexicard for EFTPOS and ATMs
- unlimited access to your money through NAB Internet Banking or NAB Telephone Banking, in any branch, through our ATM network (including rediATMs), or using EFTPOS
- protection from fraud with our NAB Defence security promise.
To help you manage your money we don't allow overdraft facilities on NAB Concession Card accounts.
Eligibility
You're eligible if you have a current:
- Pensioner Concession Card, or
- Commonwealth Health Care Card, or
- Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, or
- a concession card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs.
If you receive Centrelink payments as part of your concessionary benefits, you'll need to have them paid into you NAB Concession Card Account.
Apply
Because of the documents we need to check before we open a NAB Concession Card Account, you can't apply online. Instead you can:
- call us on 13 13 12 from 7am-9pm Mon-Fri, or 8am-9pm on weekends (AEST/AEDT).
- see us in any branch.
When you apply we'll need:
- your current Pensioner Concession Card, Commonwealth Seniors' Health Care Card, Department of Veterans' Affairs Card or Commonwealth Senior Health Care Card
- if you're new to NAB, 100 points of identification. Acceptable ID includes your passport, driver's licence and rates notice.
Already banking with us?
We can change your account over the phone. Call us on 13 22 65 from 7am-9pm Mon-Fri, or 8am-6pm on weekends (AEST/AEDT).
Make sure you have your BSB and account number handy.
After you've applied
Even if you already bank with us, we'll need to check your eligibility for the NAB Concession Card Account. We can do this in any NAB branch.
After we've opened your account you can normally start depositing money straight into your new account. We'll let you know if there's anything else that needs to be done first.
Access
Do your banking how you want, with unlimited access through:
- NAB Internet Banking
- NAB Telephone Banking (13 22 65, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week AEST/AEDT)
- EFTPOS
- our ATM network, including rediATMs
- any NAB branch
- Bank@PostTM – withdrawals, deposits and balance checks through Australia Post.
Non-NAB ATMs
To avoid ATM fees it's best to use our ATM network, including rediATMs.
We don't charge you for using other ATMs, but the owners of other ATMs might directly charge you. If they do, you'll see a message and you'll have the option to quit before you're charged.
Overseas ATMs
There are fees for using ATMs overseas - $4 per withdrawal and $1 per balance enquiry.
There’s also a 2% fee on the Australian dollar transaction amount for cash withdrawals or purchases made in currencies other than Australian dollars.
